ISC builds prism 2 radial Scrubber

Innerspace Systems Corp. is announcing a new rebreather product for the general diving public.  ISC has produced a replacement radial CO2 canister for the Hollis Prism 2. The reason for the new design was to improve the quality of the product, reliability, and customer satisfaction.  This new canister is based on the ISC Megalodon CCR 5.5lb/2.49kg and 8.0lb/3.63kg radial canister technology that has been used for over 15 years and has underwent CE testing and testing over the years by other laboratories and organizations such as the U.S. Navy. The new P2 canister has been man teted over a 12 month period to depths of 20fsw/6msw-396fsw/120msw.

ISC would like to fully disclose that this specific design has been labeled as "experimental" as it has not been formaly tested in a breathing simulator in the Prism 2 and it is not approved for use by Hollis Ind. THIS IS NOT A HOLLIS PRODUCT! The new P2 radial CO2 canister shares many characteristics of the ISC CO2 radials and performance is expected to be similar.

CHARACTERISTICS:
  • The Prism 2TM radial is expected to have very low work of breathing and uses industry standard Sofnolime 8-12 (797) mesh.
  • Rugged exterior and professional look.
  • Machined to tight tolerances from Copolymer acetyl and U.S.A made stainless steel.
  • No VOC in cured adhesives.
  • CO2 compression system to prevent channeling during diving and transportation.
  • Stainless steel handle for ease of handling.
  • Easy to pack with sorb and no vertical tapping or bulging mesh materials on sides.
The following data is from ISC's 5.5lb/2.32kg Radial CO2 Scrubber Canister. The Experimental Prism 2TM Scrubber is expected to have numbers closely resembling the ISC 5.5lb/2.32kg Radial.
  • Expected CO2 Duration - Gas Mix: 09/66 TMX (PO2 1.0) (END 80fsw/24msw), Depth: 330fsw/100msw, Water Temperature: 73F/23C, 40 RMV/20bpm/2L TV. CO2 Production: 1.35lpm. This is equivalent to a U.S. Combat Diver swimming above .85knots. Time: 218 minutes. U.S. Navy test methods TM 01-94. Gas Mix: 09/66 TMX (PO2 1.0) (END 80fsw/24msw), Depth: 330fsw/100msw, Water Temperature: 39F/4C, 40 RMV/20bpm/2L TV. CO2 Production: 1.61lpm. Moderately extreme level of swimming exertion. Time 102 minutes. CE standard. Gas mix: air, Depth: 132fsw/40msw variable depths, Water Temperature: 50F/10C, CO2 production: variable. Kick and glide recreational level of swimming exertion. Time: 5 hours. The example of this type of diving would be diving in Scapa Flow, Scotland doing two 75 minut3e decompression dives a day for two days and then throw the granular material away.
  • Expected Work of Breathing (WOB) CE standard testing. Depth: 330fsw/100msw, Gas mix: 09/66 TMX - WOB .77 Joule. Depth: 132fsw/40msw, Gas mix: Air - WOB .84 Joule
Special Notes:
  • Before use, replace CO2 scrubber seal and compression spring in P2 gas plenum canister.
  • Use Sofonolime 797 only.
  • Pack the scrubber as tight as possible by using 1/'3 filling method. Tamp sides only.
  • When in doubt of scrubber performance, discard and refill with fresh approved absorbent. Label used absorbent with time and date if the intent to use it again.
  • Insure you have enough time on the scrubber that will be appropriate for the next series of dives.
  • Seal used absorbent in a bag or inside Prism 2TM and seal with head and dust caps.

The thresher is the sidemount meg. It's perfect for tight passages where backmount isn't possible, or for individuals who don't have the physical capabilities to dive a backmounted unit. We're especially fond of the thresher as we were part of the testing team.

We prefer NEX Underwater Products for first and second stage regulators for the serious divers! We've tested these regs on many dives from 20-200m with no failures. They are top of the line and easy to rebuild.
Reels, wings, tanks, BC's, lights and everything else you may need are kept in stock as used inventory for divers on a budget.
